Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Logistics, this role oversees fleet operations and compliance, ensuring efficient movement of goods from origin to destination, identifying cost and service improvements, and supporting daily logistics operations across distribution centers in the FBIN network.

Position location: This position offers a hybrid schedule based in Deerfield, IL. Starting mid-2025, we will move to a new campus in Deerfield with collaborative workspaces and amenities such as dining, onsite daycare, fitness, and recreation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Fleet Management:
    • Develop and implement strategies with FBIN’s fleet partner for managing and maintaining the fleet, ensuring safety and performance.
    • Ensure vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs are properly managed to minimize downtime and ensure compliance.
    • Partner with Sourcing for procurement of vehicles and equipment, negotiating cost-effective contracts.
    • Create KPI metrics to monitor fuel, usage, and maintenance costs for improvements.
    • Serve as the primary contact with the fleet partner, establishing QBR meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
  2. Route Planning and Optimization:
    • Collaborate with Logistics Ops to plan and optimize delivery routes, considering various factors like traffic and deadlines.
    • Use fleet management software to monitor vehicle locations and optimize routes in real-time.
    • Analyze performance data to identify efficiency and cost-saving opportunities.
  3. Work across Opco’s to share routes and drivers where possible.
  4. Identify continuous improvement opportunities through data analysis and engagement with internal and external customers.
  5. Analyze freight spend data to understand trends and mitigate risks.
  6. Address transportation and distribution issues by maintaining communication with internal customers.
  7. Challenge existing processes constructively to deliver cost savings and enhanced services.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of logistics experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • ERP system experience (Oracle, SAP, or PeopleSoft preferred).
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (Mercury Gate or Oracle OTM preferred).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and solve problems.
  • Leadership qualities for change management.
  • Independent decision-making aligned with operational standards and goals.
Additional Information

The estimated salary range for this role is $63,000 - $95,700 USD. Salaries vary based on education, experience, and other factors. Employees are eligible for bonuses or incentive plans.
