The City of Huntsville, AL is seeking an Equipment Technician II (Heavy Equipment) to perform skilled repair and maintenance on automotive and heavy construction equipment. This role includes leading mechanics and managing repair orders with significant independent judgment.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED with diesel/heavy equipment training and extensive repair experience. CDL Class A endorsements and EVT certification may be required for certain positions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma from a regionally accredited school or GED; diesel/heavy equipment mechanics training.
• Thorough experience in repair of diesel and gasoline vehicles and equipment.
• Equivalents include combinations of education, training and experience.

Responsabilités

• Repair and maintenance of automotive and heavy construction equipment.
• Lead and direct mechanics in heavy equipment repair.
• Work is assigned via repair orders; applies independent judgment; progress reviewed on completion.
