Qualifications

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution with an active license.
  • 5 years of post-training independent clinical practice.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and aboard ships.
  • Ability to participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as shoreside point of contact for assigned vessels on medical operational matters.
  • Support day-to-day medical operations of the fleet, including resource coordination and staffing coverage.
  • Track open medical cases and ensure documentation and handover.
  • Provide real-time telemedicine clinical decision support to shipboard clinicians.
  • Review surgical or procedural requests for clinical appropriateness and safety.
  • Review medical disembarkation requests for crew fitness and destination-of-care considerations.
  • Conduct structured clinical case reviews and quality assurance of care.
  • Participate in investigations in partnership with HR.
  • Travel to vessels to conduct medical audits and on-site coaching.
