Job summary

NCL Bahamas Ltd. is seeking a Sr. Director & Deputy Chief Medical Officer to lead and coordinate medical operations for the cruise fleet. You will ensure regulatory compliance, support shipboard teams and the Manila clinic, and drive continuous improvement in health care delivery and public health practices across operations.

The role requires extensive maritime medical leadership, global coordination, and strategic program development to optimize patient care and safety aboard ships.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in maritime, cruise, or international medical operations.
  • Minimum 8 years of management experience leading multi-disciplinary medical teams or health‑care operations.
  • Prior onboard Ship’s Doctor experience is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with international regulatory agencies and drive cross‑functional medical initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with development and coordination of strategic direction of fleetwide medical operations across international laws and standards.
  • Review and advise on medical policies to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Oversee shipboard medical facilities, inspections, and internal audits, ensuring adherence to protocols.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across worldwide medical operations.
  • Drive inventory management to ensure financial accountability across the fleet.
  • Provide real‑time guidance to shipboard medical teams during onboard emergencies.
  • Lead design and implementation of medical training and compliance programs with internal departments.
  • Collaborate with HR to manage PEME process and medical credentialing of crew.
  • Drive utilization of the Manila Clinic and explore optimization opportunities.
  • Support Legal in managing medical claims with expert insight and documentation.
  • Promote shipboard public health awareness and preventive initiatives for guests and crew.
