OpenAI is seeking a software engineer for the Fleet Hardware team to ensure the reliability and uptime of its compute fleet. You will build automation for provisioning and managing thousands of servers, monitor health and lifecycle events, and work across clusters, networking, and infrastructure teams to drive high availability.

You will apply strong Linux, networking, and hardware knowledge, with a focus on scalable automation and data-driven troubleshooting.

Competenze

Experience managing large-scale server environments.
A balance of strengths in building and operationalizing.
Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar languages.
Strong Linux, networking, and server hardware knowledge.
Comfort digging into noisy data with SQL, PromQL, and Pandas or any other tool.
Prior hardware expertise is not required for this role.

Mansioni

Build and maintain automation systems for provisioning and managing server fleets.
Develop tools to monitor server health, performance, and lifecycle events.
Collaborate with clusters, networking, and infrastructure teams.
