Job summary

Brookline is seeking a Supervisor of Fleet & Facilities Services to oversee repair, maintenance, and acquisition of Town vehicles and equipment, including Water & Sewer assets, and to manage facilities across the Department of Public Works. The role combines fleet management, budgeting, policy implementation, and safety program leadership.

Qualified candidates have a degree in business administration or automotive technology, 5–7 years in municipal public works with at least 3 years in

Responsibilities

• Administering a fleet management program tracking service and replacement cycles.
• Developing policy and implementing new technologies for efficiency and sustainability.
• Participating in long-range financial and capital planning, grant work.
• Managing budgets, purchasing, and inventory controls for fleet and facilities.
• Supervising staff, hiring processes, payroll, and disciplinary actions.
• Ensuring regulatory compliance for fueling, hazardous materials, inspections, emissions, disposal, and training.
• Establishing safety programs and conducting safety appraisals at satellite locations.
