Job summary

Oberlin College invites applications for the Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance Technician in the Facilities Operations Department. This is a full-time, 12-month, 40-hour per week position (Mon-Fri, 7:00am–3:30pm) reporting to the Logistics and Mobile Technologies Manager.

The incumbent will maintain and repair College vehicles and equipment assigned to the College Fleet, Grounds and Service Pools, performing routine service, inspections and generator maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Auto Mechanic Certification or 5+ years experience as automotive or horticultural/mechanical technician.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair College vehicles and equipment for the Fleet, Grounds and Service Pools.
• Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotation, cleaning) and seasonal equipment changes.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair mechanical/electrical systems; operate Fuel Master and record fuel use.
• Coordinate parts, supplies and inventory; ensure OSHA and safety standards.
