Job summary

Kids for the Future seeks a maintenance technician in Ohio to repair and service a variety of mechanical equipment used by the Geauga County Engineer’s Office. The role requires a valid Ohio Class A CDL with an N Tanker endorsement, hands-on hydraulics and electrical troubleshooting, and welding experience.

You will perform vehicle maintenance, assist in roadwork, and respond to callouts for maintenance and snow plowing, ensuring safety and uptime across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Requires valid Ohio Class A CDL with N Tanker endorsement.
• Secondary education or equivalent plus related auto/mechanics experience.
• Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Welding techniques relevant to the role (welding preferred).
• Strong analysis skills for diagnosing equipment failures.
• Excellent English communication for documentation and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicles and equipment operated by the Geauga County Engineer’s Office.
• Operate test equipment to locate mechanical problems and perform repairs.
• Modify vehicles and equipment as directed (e.g., snowplows, welding tasks).
• Perform culvert installations and repairs; assist road construction and repairs.
• Respond to callouts for maintenance, snow plowing, and related tasks.
