Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to teach diesel-related courses with clear instruction.
• ASE Certification preferred and to be pursued if not already held.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Experience or interest in teaching and shop management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for classroom using module materials and approved plans.
• Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction.
• Provide students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using lectures, discussions, and shop demonstrations.
• Maintain a professional and positive image for students.
• Demonstrate competent knowledge of subject matter.
• Assign and grade class work and homework and provide evaluative feedback.
• Utilize computers, audiovisual aids, and other equipment to supplement presentations.
• Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration.
• Complete student records as required by laws and college policies.
• Assist in assessing curricular needs and offer improvement plans.
• Evaluate student performance against industry standards (ASE as applicable).
• Enforce college policies and rules governing students.
• Handle inventory of classroom equipment and supplies.
• Provide evidence of professional growth and technical updates.
