Job summary

East Coast Facilities, Inc. is seeking a Shop Technician to support Mechanics and Lead Mechanics with daily shop tasks and light maintenance. You will assist with cleaning, organization, inventory handling, and equipment prep, ensuring a safe, orderly working environment.

You’ll help with intercenter fleet movements, transporting vehicles as needed, and participate in winter snow removal operations. Fluency in English and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in mechanical work, fleet maintenance, or equipment repair.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and ask questions when uncertain.
• Reliable, self‑motivated, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
• Able to use a smartphone for communication, documentation, and photo capture.
• Fluent in spoken and written English due to safety and technical needs.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Able to pass illicit drug test and criminal background check.
• Complies with confidentiality, business ethics, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assists Mechanics and Lead Mechanics with day‑to‑day shop duties and maintenance.
• Performs light PM services: check fluids, change air filters, basic lubrication, battery checks, simple inspections.
• Performs minor mechanical repairs under supervision and supports fabrication work.
• Keeps shop clean, organized, and hazards free; manages tools, supplies, and storage areas.
• Assists with inventory counts, stocking, labeling, and parts organization; receives parts and checks against POs.
• Drives company vehicles to support intercompany fleet transfers and transports vehicles between centers.
• Participates in winter snow removal operations: operate plow equipment, salt application, and post‑storm cleanup.
