Job summary

The Grey Barn is seeking an organized, hands-on Fleet, Equipment & Yard Supervisor to own the readiness and maintenance of our vehicles, landscaping equipment, trailers, shop, yard, and inventory. This full-time role starts early at 5:45 AM and requires proactive coordination with crews to ensure tools are available and ready for daily work.

You will establish preventive maintenance, track service intervals, and coordinate repairs while maintaining accurate records and strong vendor

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fleet, equipment, warehouse, yard or related operational field.
• Experience responsible for company vehicles, equipment, or asset inventory.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to build tracking systems.
• Basic mechanical understanding.
• Identify safety issues and coordinate repairs with vendors.
• Proficient with spreadsheets, email and calendars.
• Maintain accurate records and work independently.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must report by 5:45 AM.

Responsibilities

• Own fleet management: vehicles, maintenance tracking, inspections, paperwork, and readiness.
• Own landscaping equipment readiness: inventory, maintenance schedules, and inspections.
• Oversee light/heavy equipment readiness and servicing coordination.
• Manage trailer inventory, maintenance, and organization.
• Own shop and warehouse organization, inventory, and cleanliness.
• Maintain yard inventory and material handling processes.
• Ensure morning and evening crew readiness and readiness checks.
• Support safety inspections and enforce equipment standards.
• Provide administrative support to keep facility organized.
