Job summary

City of Phoenix is seeking an Equipment Fabrication Foreman to supervise the fabrication, modification, and collision repair of a large municipal fleet. The role focuses on preparing new vehicles, coordinating upfits, and ensuring quality across the shop while working with internal departments and external vendors.

Ideal candidates will have skilled welding experience, automotive repair knowledge, and a current Class A CDL.

Qualifications

• Two years of skilled experience in automotive fleet repair, including collision repair.
• And one year of experience as a skilled welder.
• Possession of a current Class A CDL license.
• Experience with CMMS (M5) and Microsoft Word/Excel is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize, assign, and supervise the work of employees engaged in fabrication, modification, and collision repair of fleet equipment.
• Lead and instruct the preparation of new vehicles for service, auction readiness, and fabrication of equipment like toolboxes, racks, rails, and lift gates.
• Maintain contact with outside vendors and City departments to follow up on service requests.
• Input and retrieve data in M5 CMMS, requisition materials, and inspect work in progress to ensure standards are met.
