U.S. AutoForce in Union City, CA is seeking a Dispatcher to support the Dispatch Supervisor and manage fleet routes, driver paperwork, and safe driving practices.

The role involves coordinating will-call customers, reviewing driving alerts, and ensuring timely completion of routing tasks. The position requires a year of transportation experience, knowledge of DOT regulations, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• 1 year of professional driving experience (cube van, box truck or semi).
• 1 year experience in transportation industry.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and legal requirements for drivers.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and organization skills.
• Ability to be trained and safely use powered industrial trucks (forklifts).
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 80 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to exert a pushing force up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to follow instructions and safe operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure drivers complete all required daily paperwork: Driver logs, pre and post-trip inspections, and fuel receipts.
• Ensure drivers are completing customer returns within 3 days of creation
• Assist with will-call customers
• Assist with reviewing Samsara driving alerts
• Track drivers on Elite and close out all routes and open orders daily
• Train drivers on PIV, tablet, and safety expectations
• Complete all routing requests before scheduled cut-off times
• Backup for Dispatch Supervisor and EComm
• Assign lines to be pulled by material handlers for will-call and metro routes
• Answering phone calls in a professional and timely manner
• Communicates effectively with call center, sales, customers, drivers and other locations
• Spot check trucks for cleanliness and compliance, assist drivers when a breakdown occurs
• Backup driver, order pulling, operate power equipment as needed
• Promote and maintain a safe working environment for all team members
