Job summary

Valor Fleet is seeking a Fleet Dispatcher to keep trucks loaded on schedule and compliant by assigning loads, routing drivers, and resolving issues in real time. You will be the main link between drivers, customers, brokers, and the operations team.

Responsibilities include load planning, driver communication, and ensuring accurate ETAs, with a focus on safety and efficiency during the Thursday–Saturday shift from 6:00a to 6:00p at Henry's Wrecker Service in Alexandria, VA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year of dispatch, logistics, or transportation operations experience.
• Working knowledge of FMCSA hours-of-service rules and ELD requirements.
• Strong geography and map-reading skills across service region.
• Preferred: 2+ years dispatching for asset-based truckload or LTL carrier; degrees; CDL or driver experience; bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Load planning and assignment: allocate loads to drivers based on location, equipment, hours of service, and delivery windows.
• Route optimization: build efficient routes to cut empty miles, fuel cost, and tolls.
• Book and confirm pickup and delivery with shippers and receivers.
• Driver communication and support: track trucks, confirm check-calls, arrivals and departures, reroute around delays.
• Customer service: provide accurate ETAs and proactive delay notices; resolve issues quickly.
• Compliance and safety: plan loads within FMCSA hours-of-service; flag gaps; report incidents.
• Records and reporting: keep load status and documents in the TMS; collect BOLs and PODs; hand off issues at shift change.
