Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a Fleet Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic Level III for our Union City, TN team. You will keep all vehicles roadworthy, perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a variety of trucks and heavy equipment.

CDL is preferred but not required, and the role offers a Monday–Friday dayshift with occasional overtime. We offer great benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and competitive pay starting at $27.99/hour.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanic experience working on diesel trucks/trailers/heavy equipment OR vocational training plus 3 years on-the-job experience
• Own your own tools and strong diagnostic/troubleshooting skills
• CDL is highly preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Perform emissions testing and ensure compliance with environmental regulations
• Mentor to Mechanic 1 and 2 as needed
• Coordinate with vendors for parts, service bulletins and warranty work
• Support fleet reliability initiatives and continuous improvement
• Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders in fleet systems
• Respond to roadside service calls when required
• Maintain shop cleanliness and organization
