Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a Fleet Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic Level II in Clinton, IA. You will repair the company fleet to meet DOT standards and perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

Minimum requirements include 3 years of diesel/truck experience or vocational training plus 1 year of on-the-job experience, with diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and basic computer skills. CDL A is highly preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 3 years of mechanic experience on diesel trucks or heavy equipment OR vocational training plus 1 year of on-the-job experience
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance and repair on fleet trucks/trailers and other company equipment
• May respond to roadside calls for disabled vehicles
• Interprets repair manuals and work orders to repair equipment
• Follows safety rules and participates in safety meetings
• Uses safety equipment as assigned
• All other duties as assigned
