Job summary

JLM Logistics, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a Fleet Compliance Supervisor to own the fleet's regulatory compliance with FMCSA and DOT.

You will drive program oversight, coach drivers toward compliant behavior, and implement improvements to processes and policies to keep the area in strong regulatory standing. You will track federal and state regulation changes, administer the DOT drug/alcohol program, deliver driver training, conduct audits, and report CSA performance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ongoing compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations across the fleet
• Track pending and upcoming changes to federal and state DOT regulations and assess their impact
• Develop and communicate impact summaries of upcoming regulatory changes to Area leadership
• Own regulatory compliance for the Area, serving as the subject-matter expert
• Build strong, trust-based relationships with drivers, coaching and guiding them toward compliance
• Conduct quarterly truck inspections
• Monitor, manage, and report on CSA performance across BASICs
• Administer the DOT drug and alcohol program
• Build, deliver, and maintain driver compliance training (DOT, HOS, and core curriculum)
• Lead regular compliance meetings
• Challenge Road-Side Inspections via DataQ portal
• Manage driver counseling on CSA violations with a coaching-first approach
• Maintain driver qualification files in full compliance with federal regulations
• Support Operations on compliance questions
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments
• Issue written guidance and updates for internal publications

Fleet Compliance Supervisor — Houston, TX

The Fleet Compliance Supervisor owns fleet regulatory compliance under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and applicable state regulations. This role monitors regulatory changes, manages compliance programs end to end, and recommends and implements improvements to processes and policies that keep the Area in strong regulatory standing. Just as important, this role builds trust and strong working relationships with drivers, coaching for compliance and buy-in rather than relying on enforcement and penalties alone.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ongoing compliance with FMCSA and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations across the fleet
• Track pending and upcoming changes to federal and state DOT regulations and assess their impact
• Develop and communicate impact summaries of upcoming regulatory changes to Area leadership
• Own regulatory compliance for the Area, serving as the subject-matter expert
• Build strong, trust-based relationships with drivers, coaching and guiding them toward compliance
• Conduct quarterly truck inspections
• Monitor, manage, and report on Compliance, Safety & Accountability (CSA) performance, keeping the Area within acceptable thresholds across all BASICs
• Administer the DOT drug and alcohol program
• Build, deliver, and maintain new-hire and ongoing driver compliance training, including DOT, Hours of Service (HOS), and core regulatory curriculum, and lead regular compliance meetings
• Challenge Road-Side Inspections via DataQ portal.
• Manage driver counseling on CSA and non-CSA violations with a constructive, coaching-first approach, and address escalated situations as needed
• Maintain driver qualification files in full compliance with federal regulations
• Support Operations personnel and drivers on compliance and regulatory questions
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments across the fleet to confirm adherence to all regulations
• Issue written guidance and updates through internal memoranda and articles for internal publications

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience, preferably in a federal motor carrier–regulated environment
• Proven experience working directly with drivers and building positive, productive relationships — earning cooperation through coaching and communication
• Advanced knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT Hours of Service
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
