Job summary

Nova Solutions Group seeks a Fleet Thermal Engineer to own the boiler program across a large independent power generation fleet. You will be the go-to expert for boilers, HRSGs, high energy piping, and steam cycle equipment, supporting outages and fleet-wide reliability improvements.

The role requires collaboration with plant operations, maintenance, fleet engineering, and vendors, with up to 40% travel to plant sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; related degrees with thermal/steam cycle experience considered
• 7+ years of engineering experience in power generation; 10+ years preferred
• Hands-on experience with boilers or HRSGs, high energy piping, condensers, and steam cycle systems
• Experience supporting outages and reliability programs in utility, power generation, or similar settings
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to juggle priorities across multiple sites

Responsibilities

• Lead the Fleet Boiler Program across the fleet; own boiler inspection planning, performance monitoring, and corrective actions
• Protect high energy piping systems through inspections, reliability assessments, and life management
• Improve performance by analyzing plant data and leading root-cause analyses for thermal and steam-cycle events
• Support outages and plant teams by shaping outage scope, coordinating repairs, and sharing best practices across the fleet
• Collaborate with plant operations, maintenance, fleet engineering, and vendors; provide hands-on supervision and development
