Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries in Eugene, OR is seeking a Boiler Operations Engineer to support boiler operations and maintenance, with travel to CA, OR, WA as needed. The role oversees chemistry standards, testing, and QA across multiple divisions.

Responsibilities include developing O&M standards, training personnel, and collaborating with laboratories and vendors. A Navy/boilerman background with appropriate certifications is preferred, with a BS in engineering considered in lieu of experience.

Qualifications

• Navy engineer or boilerman experience with boiler operator certification and demonstrated competence in quality assurance and testing.
• Bachelor of Science in chemical, mechanical, or related engineering will be considered in lieu of experience.
• College coursework or working experience in industrial water treatment, chemistry, thermodynamics, heat transfer, or power generation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain standardized chemistry requirements for boiler and cooling-water systems.
• Establish boiler O&M standards including sampling points, test methods, equipment, reagents, frequencies, procedures, tests, and log sheets.
• Translate boiler O&M standards into governed requirements and training content for company information systems.
• Support field implementation and continuous improvement.
• Administer testing quality control including training and corrective actions program.
• Train and qualify operating personnel in sampling, analytical methods, and data validation.
