Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Automotive Mechanic at the South Mountain Restoration Center to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of vehicles, equipment, and emergency generators. You will keep precise service records and support daily operations across the facility, contributing to reliable transportation and responsive service.

The role requires four years of automotive experience (or an approved apprenticeship) and a PA residency, with a State Inspection Mechanic certificate

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform major and minor vehicle repairs on cars, trucks, tractors, generators, and related equipment.
• Inspect vehicles for compliance with state inspection codes.
• Repair transmissions, brakes, clutches, alignments, and body components as needed.
• Keep accurate service records for all vehicles and equipment.
• Dispense gasoline, diesel fuel, and oil for equipment.
• Complete welding and brazing work when required.
