Job summary

1776 Companies is seeking a dependable Automotive Technician in Chancellor, SD to diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of cars, pickups, and other company vehicles. The role emphasizes hands-on work, quality workmanship, and independent problem-solving within a team-oriented shop environment.

We expect 2+ years in automotive repair, strong diagnostics skills, and the ability to use hand and power tools, with ASE a plus.

Qualifications

2+ years of automotive repair or maintenance experience.
Valid driver’s license required.
High school diploma or GED preferred; trade-school training preferred.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, maintain, and repair cars, pickup trucks, and company vehicles.
Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, tire rotations, inspections.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues using diagnostic tools and information.
Repair and service engines, brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems, and related components.
Inspect vehicles to identify safety concerns and recommend repairs.
Complete preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and extend vehicle life.
Document repairs, labor, parts used, and maintenance performed.
Communicate vehicle concerns and recommended repairs to shop leadership.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
