1776 Companies is seeking a dependable Automotive Technician in Chancellor, SD to diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of cars, pickups, and other company vehicles. The role emphasizes hands-on work, quality workmanship, and independent problem-solving within a team-oriented shop environment.

We expect 2+ years in automotive repair, strong diagnostics skills, and the ability to use hand and power tools, with ASE a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of automotive repair or maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; trade-school training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair cars, pickup trucks, and company vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, tire rotations, inspections.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues using diagnostic tools and information.
• Repair and service engines, brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems, and related components.
• Inspect vehicles to identify safety concerns and recommend repairs.
• Complete preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and extend vehicle life.
• Document repairs, labor, parts used, and maintenance performed.
• Communicate vehicle concerns and recommended repairs to shop leadership.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

1776 Companies is seeking a dependable and skilled Automotive Technician to join our team in Chancellor, South Dakota. This hands-on position focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining cars, pickup trucks, and other company vehicles to keep our fleet safe, reliable, and operating efficiently.

We're looking for a motivated technician who enjoys troubleshooting mechanical problems, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can work independently while contributing to a team-oriented shop environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Schedule & Location

• Monday-Friday 8AM - 5PM
• Full-time position
• On-site in Chancellor, South Dakota

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair cars, pickup trucks, and other company vehicles.

What We're Looking For

• Previous automotive repair or maintenance experience; 2 or more years preferred.
• Knowledge of automotive systems, preventative maintenance, and diagnostic procedures.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and automotive diagnostic equipment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Technical or trade school training preferred.
• ASE certifications are a plus but are not required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
