Job summary

UPS is seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join our fleet maintenance team. The Technician will service delivery vehicles, heavy‑duty tractors, and trailers with diesel, gas, and alternative propulsion systems. Must troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and engine control systems and maintain a safe work environment.

Active driver’s license required. Be prepared to work 2nd or 3rd shifts at Newington, Dulles, or Alexandria locations, and bring your own hand tools.

Qualifications

• Current automotive mechanical experience.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment and scan tools.
• Possesses a full complement of personal hand tools.
• CDL license preferred at hire; must be obtained within the first year.

Responsibilities

• Meets DOT requirements as assigned.
• Perform vehicle maintenance on delivery trucks, tractors and trailers.
• Operate standard and manual transmissions; use power and pneumatic tools.
