Job summary

UPS is seeking a Temporary Automotive Mechanic in Reno, NV to maintain a diverse fleet including delivery vehicles, tractors, and trailers. Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel, gasoline, and alternative propulsion systems, with strict safety and DOT compliance.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, willingness to work 1st–3rd shifts, and hand tools; CDL is preferred. ASE certification is a plus and benefits are provided for a seasonal position.

Qualifications

• Current 5 years as automotive mechanic with heavy-duty vehicles.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment and scan tools.
• Experience with diesel and CNG vehicles.
• Hands-on fleet repair, welding and cutting.

Responsibilities

• Meets D.O.T requirements for job assignment.
• Operate standard and manual transmissions and tools.
• Adhere to safety and PPE requirements.
