Job summary

Nscale, the GPU cloud engineered for AI, is hiring in Houston for an Infrastructure Software Engineer focusing on Fleet & Automation. You will own the control plane, tooling, and automation that support fleet operations, network operations, and observability for AI/HPC environments.

You will build production-grade Python systems, collaborate across product, design, and operations, and contribute to reliability, efficiency, and cost-conscious automation in a fast-growing startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience building large-scale infrastructure applications or similar.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Java, and Python for API design and testing.
• Deep understanding of Linux operating systems, TCP/IP networking, and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Experience building and debugging large-scale distributed systems and familiarity with compute/storage hardware.

Responsibilities

• Architect and drive automation for workflows with a balance of complexity, reliability, and maintainability.
• Own end-to-end device provisioning, validation, testing, and remediation workflows at scale.
• Design and build workflow orchestration for hardware lifecycle management (GPU nodes, network switches).
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Platform, and SRE teams to translate operations needs into scalable automation.
• Set engineering standards for reliability, observability, and operational excellence across services.
• Build production-grade Python systems for hardware lifecycle automation, leveraging AI tools to accelerate delivery.
• Work with cross-functional teams to create efficient, interoperable automated systems.
