Job summary

Nscale is seeking an Infrastructure Software Engineer for Fleet & Automation to help ensure the acceptance, performance, and scalability of our AI and HPC environments. You will build and maintain the control plane, tooling, and automation that support Fleet Operations, Network Operations, and Observability.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll design workflow orchestration for hardware lifecycle, build production-grade Python systems, and drive reliability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience building large-scale infrastructure applications or similar.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Java, and Python for API design and testing.
• Deep Linux, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, BGP), and configuration management tools like Ansible and Terraform.
• Experience building and debugging distributed systems and familiarity with infra tooling (DCIMs, NetBox, OpenStack, MAAS, Ironic, IPMI).

Responsibilities

• Architect and drive roadmaps for workflow automation systems, balancing complexity, reliability, and maintainability.
• Own end-to-end delivery of device provisioning, validation, testing, and remediation workflows at scale.
• Design and build workflow orchestration for hardware lifecycle management including GPU nodes and network switches.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Platform, and SRE teams to translate operational needs into scalable automation.
• Set up engineering standards for reliability, observability and operational excellence across services.
• Build production-grade Python systems for hardware lifecycle automation and explore AI-driven improvements.
• Work with cross-functional teams to create interoperable, maintainable automated systems.
