Job summary

Nscale is seeking an Infrastructure Software Engineer for Fleet & Automation to ensure scalable, reliable AI and HPC environments. You will build the control plane, tooling, and automation supporting fleet, network, and observability functions to reduce costs and increase availability.

You will design production-grade Python systems for hardware lifecycle automation, collaborate across product, design, and operations, and apply AI-driven improvements to workflows and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years building large-scale infrastructure applications or similar experience.
• Proficient in C/C++, Java; strong Python for API design and testing.
• Deep understanding of Linux, TCP/IP networking; familiarity with Ansible and Terraform.
• Experience building and debugging distributed systems; familiarity with DCIMs, NetBox, OpenStack, MAAS/Ironic/IPMI.

Responsibilities

• Architect and drive roadmap for workflow automation in fleet operations.
• Own end-to-end provisioning, validation, testing, and remediation workflows at scale.
• Design and build workflow orchestration for hardware lifecycle including GPUs and network gear.
• Collaborate with infra, platform, and SRE teams to translate ops needs into robust automation.
• Establish reliability, observability, and operating best practices across services.
• Develop production-grade Python systems for hardware automation and AI tooling integration.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure interoperable, maintainable automation.
