Avis Budget Group's Zipcar team in Charlotte, NC seeks a Fleet Operations Associate who keeps vehicles ready and safe for members. This hands-on role involves transporting, refueling, cleaning, basic tire changes, and coordinating repairs or towing when needed.

Responsibilities

• Keep vehicles ready for members and support their experience.
• Represent Zipcar across the community and city locations.
• Clean interiors and exteriors to Zipcar standards.
• Refuel or recharge vehicles and jump-start dead batteries.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and member-ready audits.
• Change tires and complete minor in-field repairs.
• Move vehicles between locations for cleaning/service.
• Prepare vehicles to join or leave the fleet, including branding.
• Audit locations, signage, and parking passes.
• Coordinate repairs or towing to return vehicles to service.
• Report damage and safety concerns with accurate records.
• Follow safety, security, and data-handling policies.
• Support high-demand periods and weather events.

Job description

Do you know your city inside and out and enjoy being on the move? Join our team and help keep our vehicles ready for members while supporting a more sustainable approach to transportation. The Fleet Operations Associate works throughout the city to keep vehicles clean, maintained, and ready for members. This hands-on role includes transporting vehicles, refueling, cleaning, changing tires, and coordinating repairs or towing when needed. Associates travel between locations by foot, bike, public transit, or company vehicle.

What You'll Do:

• Keep vehicles ready for members and play a key role in their experience.
• Represent Zipcar across the community and different city locations.
• Clean vehicle interiors and exteriors to Zipcar cleanliness standards.
• Refuel or recharge vehicles and jump-start dead batteries.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and member-ready audits.
• Change tires and complete minor in-field repairs.
• Move vehicles safely between locations for cleaning, service, or repositioning.
• Prepare vehicles to join or leave the fleet, including installing branding.
• Audit locations, install and remove signage, and pick up parking passes.
• Coordinate repairs and towing to get vehicles back in service.
• Report damage and safety concerns, and keep accurate mobile records of work completed.
• Follow all safety, security, and data-handling policies.
• Support high-demand periods, weather events, and special projects as needed.

What We're Looking For:

• Valid Driver's License
• Must be 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• An acceptable driving record (per company standards)
• Strong time management skills to juggle multiple priorities and tasks

• Quick learner with a problem-solving approach to hands-on, mechanical tasks
• Tech savviness – you'll be using mobile tools throughout your day
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Willingness to work outdoors (weather and other conditions vary)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit, and kneel; and frequently enter, exit, and drive vehicles
• This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely
