Job summary

Avis Budget Group is seeking a Fleet Operations Associate to keep our vehicles clean, maintained, and ready for members across city locations. You will transport, refuel, inspect, and assist with minor repairs while coordinating with shops and towing services as needed.

The role requires on-site availability, flexibility for 40-hour weeks, and comfort working outdoors in varying conditions. Training is provided, with benefits including PTO and insurance.

Job description

The Fleet Operations Associate works throughout the city to keep vehicles clean, maintained, and ready for members. This hands-on role includes transporting vehicles, refueling, cleaning, changing tires, and coordinating repairs or towing when needed. Associates travel between locations by foot, bike, public transit, or company vehicle.

What You'll Do

• Play a key role in the member experience by ensuring vehicles are ready when members need them.
• Represent the company throughout the community while working across different locations in the city.
• Clean vehicle interiors and exteriors, including vacuuming, wiping surfaces, removing trash, and spot-treating stains, to Zipcar cleanliness standards.
• Refuel vehicles or recharge EVs, and keep fuel and charge levels within operating guidelines.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on tire pressure, fluids, lights, wipers, and warning indicators.
• Change tires and complete minor in-field repairs.
• Move vehicles safely between locations for cleaning, service, or repositioning.
• Identify vehicles that need repair, and coordinate with shops, vendors, or towing providers to get them back in service.
• Report damage, safety concerns, and maintenance issues promptly and accurately through approved systems.
• Document work completed using mobile tools, and keep accurate records of vehicle condition and location.
• Follow all safety, security, and data-handling policies, including on-street and parking-facility safety procedures.
• Support high-demand periods, weather events, and special projects as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Valid Driver's License
• Must be 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Strong time management skills to juggle multiple priorities and tasks
• Excellent communication with operations team to ensure the vehicle status updates are provided
• Flexibility to work 40-hour weeks which includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Willingness to work outdoors (weather and other conditions vary)
• Valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record (per company standards)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit, and kneel; and frequently enter, exit, and drive vehicles
• This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely
