Job summary

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service seeks a Fleet, Asset and Commissioning Manager to ensure assets, equipment, PPE and workwear meet frontline needs. You will shape fleet strategy, lead procurement projects and support the team to enable safe, effective emergency response.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop teams.
• Strong knowledge of procurement, contract management and project delivery.
• A degree-level qualification (Level 6/7) or equivalent; engineering or motor vehicle qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop vehicle and equipment specifications and manage procurement and contract processes for the capital replacement programme.
• Lead and support teams at Phoenix House and Anson Road, Martlesham, fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment.
• Represent Fleet Services at strategic forums, including Programme Boards and Workforce Planning meetings.
• Build relationships with regional and national TOG networks to share knowledge and implement best practice.
• Provide expert advice on fleet-related matters to influence service-wide decisions.
• Manage projects from conception through delivery, ensuring objectives, budgets and timescales are met.
