Job summary

Bell Flavors & Fragrances, Inc. in Northbrook, IL, is seeking a Reactions Operator to join our flavor manufacturing team.

You will operate and monitor reaction equipment, ensuring precise chemistry and quality across raw materials, intermediates, and finished products. Responsibilities include following SOPs, tracking temperature and pressure, performing basic maintenance, recording production data, and upholding safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in chemical processing or related field preferred.
• Proven experience in chemical manufacturing or a similar production environment; experience with reaction equipment and processes is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions and procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Willingness to work in a physically demanding role and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Reliable and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Operate reaction equipment according to SOPs to initiate and control chemical reactions.
• Monitor reaction parameters to ensure adherence to specifications and safety protocols.
• Conduct quality checks on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation to comply with regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
