TRUCKING PEOPLE in Austin, TX seeks a qualified Flatbed Tow Operator (Class C) to safely recover, transport, and deliver company vehicles while adhering to DOT regulations.

The role is full-time/contract, in-person, at $27.50 per hour, with a Monday–Friday night shift (3:30 PM–12:00 AM) and schedule flexibility. Ideal candidates have flatbed towing experience and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Valid Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Minimum 2 years of flatbed towing or vehicle recovery experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate large commercial vehicles and towing equipment.
• Experience with vehicle loading, winching, recovery operations, and cargo securement.
• Ability to meet DOT physical and medical requirements, when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Safely recover and transport company vehicles on public roads using flatbed towing equipment.
• Operate vehicles with a GVW of 10,001–26,000 lbs (flatbed GVWR: 20,000 lbs).
• Perform vehicle loading, securing, winching, and recovery procedures safely and efficiently.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle, trailer, and equipment inspections.
• Maintain accurate driver logs, hours of service, inspection reports, and delivery documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, logistics teams, and field support throughout each shift.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance, including fueling, checking fluids, tire pressure, and minor repairs.
• Ensure DOT regulations and company safety policies are followed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support daily logistics operations and customer experience.

About the Role

• Maintain accurate driver logs, hours of service, inspection reports, and delivery documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, logistics teams, and field support throughout each shift.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Minimum 2 years of flatbed towing or vehicle recovery experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate large commercial vehicles and towing equipment.
• Experience with vehicle loading, winching, recovery operations, and cargo securement.
• Ability to meet DOT physical and medical requirements, when applicable.
• Must successfully pass background screening and drug testing.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible to work assigned shifts and overtime as needed.
• Able to repeatedly enter and exit vehicles and lift up to 35 lbs.
