Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a flagperson to manage traffic in work zones and support site operations on paving and grading projects. You will operate basic tools, assist crew members, and maintain equipment and site safety.

A valid driver's license, physical ability to lift 50 lbs, and flexibility to work varied shifts are required. The role emphasizes adherence to safety procedures, effective communication with foremen, and readiness for overtime as construction contracts

Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees.**What You'll Be Doing*** Alert or stop traffic intermittently as required by the progress of work in a work zone.* Operate small equipment and hand tools on a variety of job sites consisting of paving, grading, pipe installation, and site work.* Maintains housekeeping of job site and facilities, ensures equipment is in good working order* Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in asphalt paving, typical site work, grading, storm/sanitary/water pipe installation, etc* Properly follow all Company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Safety Manager.* Performs routine inspection and preventative and corrective maintenance on small equipment and hand tools if within abilities; escalates issues that are not repairable or safe.* Routinely assists other members of the crew as needed, including shoveling and cleanup* Fuel, oil and grease to ensure proper function of equipment and complete associated paperwork* Performs other related activities as assigned**What Are We Looking For*** High School Diploma (or equivalency) AND prior relevant job experience* Valid/Clean Driver’s License* Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.* Must have the ability to work a varied schedule of day shift, night shift, and weekends due to construction contracts* Ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment (excavator and loader experience preferred)* Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in typical site work, grading, storm/sanitary/water pipe installation, etc* Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions**Conditions of Employment*** Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.**Work Environment*** Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.**What We Offer*** $24.00 per hour base pay.
