Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking an Asphalt Paving Laborer to operate paving equipment and hand tools on diverse job sites in Kentucky. You will help with milling, paving and grading, while keeping sites clean and safe.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Training on equipment is provided, with varied shifts to fit contract needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency and prior relevant job experience.
• Valid/Clean Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to work varied day/night/weekend shifts due to contracts.
• Ability to operate and maintain small paving equipment (tamper, roller, skid steer).
• Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in typical site work, milling, paving, grading, etc.

Responsibilities

• Operate small equipment and hand tools on job sites including milling, paving, grading.
• Maintains housekeeping of job site and facilities, ensures equipment is in good working order.
• Follow all Company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment; report issues to Foreman/Superintendent/Safety Manager.
• Performs routine inspection and maintenance on small equipment; escalate unsafe issues.
• Routinely assists other crew members, including shoveling and cleanup.
• Fuel, oil and grease to ensure proper function and complete associated paperwork.
