Responsibilities

• Control the movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects.
• Discuss traffic routing plans, and type and location of control points with superiors.
• Distribute traffic control signs and markers along the site in a designated pattern.
• Direct traffic movement through the site using signs, hand, and flag signals.
• Warn construction workers when approaching vehicles fail to heed signals to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Inform drivers of detour routes through construction sites.
• Record license numbers of traffic control violators for police.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
