Job summary

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is seeking a Fixed Assets Examiner to join our Financial Services Department in Houston. You will manage asset records, process acquisitions, disposals, and transfers, and ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures.

You will collaborate with internal teams, maintain strong document controls, and support accurate financial reporting through meticulous recordkeeping and asset management system updates.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Four (4) years of progressive administrative, clerical, records management, purchasing, accounting support, or related experience.
• Proficiency with computer systems and electronic record management applications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain internal controls related to fixed asset recordkeeping.
• Receive, track, and record fixed assets in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation for all fixed asset transactions
• Record asset acquisitions, transfers, modifications, and dispositions within the fixed asset management system.
• Assist with receiving and verifying assets against purchase orders.
• Communicate fixed asset issues, discrepancies, and updates to management.
• Ensure fixed asset records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
• Collaborate effectively with internal departments and stakeholders.
• Adapt to changing priorities and support ongoing agency operational needs
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
