Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso seeks a skilled accounting leader to oversee the daily operations of the accounting team, ensure accuracy of the General Ledger, and manage capital assets and project accounting.

The role collaborates with Facilities, Engineering, IT, Supply Chain, and Budget to ensure timely reporting and adherence to policies. A Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance is required; Master’s preferred, with at least three years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Three years of supervisory/management experience in accounting.
• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, fixed-asset accounting, depreciation, and project accounting.
• Experience with enterprise financial systems and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of healthcare/governmental financial reporting and capital projects.
• Advanced Excel and reporting/tool usage skills.
• Ability to reconcile accounts, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions.
• Ability to interpret capitalization policies with professional judgment.
• Effective written and oral communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration.
