The position emphasizes capital planning, fixed assets, lease accounting, and ensuring GAAP compliance. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential for timely monthly closes and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• 5 years’ experience with increasing management responsibilities.
• Advanced spreadsheet, word processing and database software skills.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership and ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the company’s strategic capital planning.
• Partner with department heads to develop coordinated capital expenditure plans.
• Analyze ROI of proposed capital projects and report on performance of capital investments.
• Present capital spending recommendations to the finance committee.
• Manage fixed asset accounting staff and processes.
• Ensure timely capitalization of assets and GAAP and tax accounting rules are applied.
• Maximize automation to enhance efficiency.
• Oversee lease accounting and provide decision support to Real Estate and executive management.
• Ensure lease accounting compliance with standards and internal controls.
• Develop policies and procedures with upper management.
• Ensure monthly close processes for Activity and Fixed Asset systems and reconcile related Balance Sheet accounts.
• Coordinate with internal audit to maintain control documentation.
