Job summary

Compass Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to own the full lifecycle of fixed assets, CAPEX, and related OPEX accounting. This role combines hands-on accounting with frequent collaboration across project teams, budgets, FP&A, and audits.

You will manage asset subledger, perform monthly closes, monitor capitalization versus expense, support SOX controls, and drive process improvements in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with 3+ years in fixed assets and/or CAPEX.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP capitalization rules and depreciation methods.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience handling large data sets.
• Experience with a major ERP system (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, transfers, impairments, and depreciation.
• Maintain fixed asset subledger and align with general ledger.
• Perform monthly close activities: journal entries, reconciliations, roll forwards, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate internal and external audit requests related to fixed assets and CAPEX.
• Partner with project managers to monitor capital project spend and capitalization vs expense decisions.
