Job summary

BioMarin seeks an experienced Senior Accountant to own fixed asset, CAPEX, and related OPEX processes in a one-year hybrid role based in San Rafael. You will manage asset accounting end-to-end, perform monthly closes, support audits, and collaborate with FP&A, project managers, and budget owners to drive accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with 3+ years in fixed assets or CAPEX.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and depreciation/accounting rules.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, transfers, impairments, and depreciation.
• Maintain fixed asset subledger and align with the general ledger.
• Perform monthly close activities with journal entries, reconciliations, rollforwards, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate audits and support SOX controls related to fixed assets.
• Partner with project managers to monitor capital spend and capitalization vs expense.
• Communicate accounting concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
