Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fitter Welder Apprentice for our San Antonio, TX plant. This role offers hands-on experience in fabrication, fit-up, and welding under supervision of seasoned professionals.

You will work with welders to perform MIG and related processes, read blueprints, maintain safety, and document progress in production logs. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a strong teamwork mindset and commitment to quality.

Qualifications

• 6 months MIG welding experience minimum
• Read and review blueprints and specifications
• Follow safety policies and protocols
• Maintain detailed reports and documentation
• Ability to operate welding equipment and perform fit-up/fabrication

Responsibilities

• Perform fit up, fabrication, and welding per Johnson Controls standards
• Deliver and execute fit up and welding to vendors and managers
• Prepare inputs for management and log reports
• Read production drawings and ensure drawings meet environment requirements
• Maintain safety, quality, and productivity
