Job summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Steel Building Frame Fabricator in Woodburn, OR to fit and assemble structural steel components such as I-beams, columns, and trusses used in building construction.

You will read blueprints, layout parts, and perform GMAW welding and plasma cutting while maintaining safety and production timelines; lifting up to 50 lbs and standing all shift are required. Overtime may be needed.

Steel Building Frame Fabricator

Location: Woodburn, OR
Pay: $23.00+ per hour DOE
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Overtime as needed

Position Overview
Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a Steel Building Frame Fabricator for a manufacturing company in Woodburn. This role focuses on fitting and assembling structural steel components such as I-beams, columns, and trusses used in steel building construction.

Responsibilities

• Fit and assemble structural steel components including I-beams, columns, and trusses
• Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
• Layout and secure parts using tack welding and welding
• Perform GMAW (spray transfer) welding
• Operate plasma cutting equipment
• Measure materials using a tape measure
• Maintain production timelines and a safe work environment

Training

• Month 1: Work with a senior fitter learning fitting procedures, part verification, and layout
• Month 2: Train on more complex assemblies including auxiliary members and splicing components

Requirements

• Certified in GMAW (spray) or able to pass a weld test
• Proficient in blueprint reading
• Proficient with a tape measure
• Experience operating a plasma torch
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
• Ability to stand for 8+ hours
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime

Additional Qualifications

• Must pass a 30–60 minute in-shop fit-up test
• Must pass a drug screening
• Structural steel or similar fabrication experience preferred
