Chief Buildings, a brand of Chief Industries, seeks a skilled welder in Lancaster, SC to lay out and position metal components and perform GMAW welding on production materials. You will read blueprints, operate welding equipment, and maintain safety and quality controls while working 7:30pm–6:00am.

Responsible for laying out and positioning metal components according to blueprint specification GMAW welding processes on production materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Education: High School Diploma, or GED, preferred.
Shift: 7:30pm-6:00am
Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for creating a collaborative, safe and hazard free environment that is driven by employee involvement. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to leading departmental continuous improvement projects, supporting and executing all safety and health policies and programs, employee training and incident investigations.

Skilled in interpreting fabrication drawings and data sheets for accurate assembly
Strong mathematical abilities, including working with fractions and decimals.
Proficient in using hand tools such as tape measures, squares, protractors, Oxy Acetylene, cutting/plasma torch, and grinding equipment.
Knowledge of basic welding techniques and metal fabrication.
