About The Position
The Fitness Trainer is responsible for delivering a positive member experience through onboarding, group fitness, and individual training. Responsibilities include providing personal and small-group training, maintaining equipment and fitness areas, and supporting a safe and engaging environment. The position reports to the Fitness Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve revenue goals through training, classes, and programs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment and fitness areas.
  • Proactively seek new clients and promote fitness programs.
  • Ensure the fitness floor is safe, clean, and well-maintained.
  • Oversee floor activities and assist members in exercising safely and effectively.
  • Handle member issues with excellent customer service and enforce club policies.
  • Manage schedules and client check-ins using MVP Scheduler.
  • Meet with the Fitness Manager to discuss goals and performance.
  • Keep records of client workouts and progress.
  • Promote fitness programs and collaborate with other trainers.
  • Stay current with industry research and certifications.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and team-building activities.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • College degree in fitness or related field preferred.
  • Certification through NASM, ACE, NCFS, ACSM, ISSA, NSCA-CPT, or NSCA-CSCS required within 3 months of hire.
  • Group exercise experience preferred.
  • Minimum two years of customer service experience.
  • Sales skills for promoting training and classes.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Experience with exercise testing and prescriptions.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Computer proficiency with club management software.
  • Ability to demonstrate proper use of equipment and exercises.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 75 lbs, and spot weights up to 135 lbs.
