Fitness Manager Job Description
Perform Kick Off sessions and evaluations to ensure successful member participation in personal training. Develop a team of trainers who do the same, providing proactive club floor service and dynamic personal training sessions that optimize member results and usage, ultimately creating a rewarding club experience.
Fitness Manager Duties:
- Assist in the development of Personal Trainers by setting an example for new staff to mirror.
- Ensure the club meets personal training and monthly revenue goals.
- Hold monthly meetings with personal training staff, following motivational and educational formats.
- Present and promote private services to all members, building value and influence.
- Develop leads and generate referrals through professional reputation management.
- Report progress on new client acquisitions and renewals to the owner monthly or as requested.
- Confirm appointments and ensure client folders are up to date, with functional equipment.
- Keep trainer files updated, including certifications and educational plans.
- Master the use of PT software and train staff accordingly.
- Ensure adherence to floor philosophy, mission statement, and principles.
- Create awareness of current fitness incentives and programs.
- Achieve monthly kick-off goals.
Personal Trainer Expectations and Responsibilities:
- Be punctual and prepared for all appointments and staff meetings.
- Be passionate about fitness and coaching, providing excellent customer service.
- Motivate clients to improve their fitness and health.
- Assist clients in reaching their health and fitness goals through appropriate exercises.
- Possess knowledge of anatomy, functional exercise, nutrition, and exercise science.
- Conduct Fitness Assessments per company protocol.
- Educate members on health and fitness trends.
- Provide outstanding member service and communicate effectively.
- Design tailored exercise programs for clients.
- Demonstrate exercises and provide feedback on technique.
- Execute fitness programs safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate and current client files.
- Uphold integrity and personal health and fitness standards.
- Follow company protocols and policies.
- Attend mandatory and optional training sessions.
- Promote and sell personal training services.
- Stay current on certifications and industry trends.
Job Requirements:
- Current CPR/AED certification and basic First Aid knowledge (short grace period allowed).
- Current nationally recognized personal trainer certification.
- All trainers must obtain a NASM certification within 6 months of employment.
Acceptable certifications include NASM, Cooper Institute, ACSM, NFPT, ACE, CSCS, NPTI, NSCA, ISSA, PTA Global, AFAA, and NESTA.
