The Health & Wellness Operations Manager leads the daily business operations of the Wellness Center at a Premier Private Club, overseeing all fitness, spa, recovery, and holistic wellness services. This is a business-leadership role: the Manager builds and runs the department's staffing, financial performance, systems, and member experience strategy. The Manager does not carry a personal training client base or treatment book, does not teach group fitness classes, and does not deliver hands-on training or treatment services regularly. The Manager leads and develops the team that does, working through department supervisors, instructors, and licensed providers.
Primary Responsibilities
Program & Member Experience Oversight
- Direct the design and delivery of integrated wellness programming across fitness, spa, recovery, and holistic offerings, executed through department supervisors and staff.
- Ensure all health and wellness services meet established quality, safety, and service standards.
- Oversee scheduling and program execution across group fitness, personal training, and spa/wellness services to drive engagement, working through supervisors and instructors rather than delivering services personally.
- Monitor member feedback, utilization, and key performance metrics to continuously improve offerings and experiences.
- Partner with Membership and Marketing teams to promote wellness programs, events, and initiatives.
Operational Management
- Manage daily business operations of the wellness center, including staff scheduling, coverage planning, and facility readiness.
- Maintain oversight of equipment, treatment rooms, studios, and wellness spaces; communicate maintenance needs promptly.
- Own departmental budgets, revenue, participation, and productivity metrics, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
- Develop and maintain systems for attendance tracking, billing, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Lead, coach, and support a diverse team including fitness supervisors, group instructors, licensed spa providers, and front desk staff.
- Oversee recruiting, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and professional development plans.
- Ensure staff compliance with all company policies, service standards, licensing, and certification requirements.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and service-oriented team culture.
Revenue & Business Development
- Own the development of strategies, in partnership with club leadership, that drive sustainable wellness revenue across services and programs.
- Identify opportunities for program expansion, improved utilization, and cross-department collaboration.
- Monitor financial performance and adjust staffing models or programming to support profitability and experience quality.
Additional Duties
- In rare instances where no other coverage is available, the Manager may provide temporary group fitness class coverage to prevent a service disruption. This is a contingency measure only, not a regular or expected duty, and does not constitute a personal training client base or treatment schedule.
- Support special projects, club initiatives, and interdepartmental programs as requested.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure staff maintains required certifications.
- Represent the club professionally in all interactions with members, staff, and external partners.

Work Schedule
- Adherence to a weekly schedule aligned with operational needs.
