Job summary

Shea Properties is seeking a Fitness Instructor at Bluestar Resort & Golf in Sun Lakes, AZ. The role develops fitness classes, trains on safe equipment use, and assists members during workouts, reporting to the Spa & Fitness Director.

Responsibilities include leading classes for all levels, ensuring safety, and promoting a holistic fitness experience, while maintaining professional relationships with members.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year experience and class instruction experience preferred.
• Current First Aid, CPR/AED certification, and other safety certifications as required by the Club.
• Group Exercise Certification and experience with 55+ audience preferred.
• Computer literate and able to demonstrate equipment use.

Responsibilities

• Model BlueStar standards and follow facility policies.
• Ensure safety and security for members/guests.
• Create and lead safe, engaging classes for all fitness levels.
• Advise members on class selection to fit goals and limitations.
• Maintain professional instructor-client relationships.
• Report incidents to management.
• Keep facility calendar current; participate in events.
• Suggest programs to enhance member experience.
• Know spa services and suggest treatments to complement fitness.
• Work schedule; start/end sessions on time; clean equipment.
• Assist with lifting and storing equipment for events.
• Other duties may be assigned.
