Job summary

Bluestar Resort & Golf in California seeks a Fitness Instructor to develop and deliver fitness classes for all levels, supervise safe equipment use, and support members during workouts under the Spa & Fitness Director.

Ideal candidates will have First Aid/CPR certification, a Group Exercise credential, and strong customer service. The role requires evenings/weekends and a flexible schedule with benefits including health, PTO, holidays, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year previous experience and class instruction experience preferred.
• Current First Aid, CPR/AED certification, and other safety certifications, as required by the Club.
• Group Exercise Certification and experience with 55+ audience preferred.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to demonstrate equipment use for exercise training.
• Must be able to lift 45-pound weight plates.
• Ability to speak with volume to direct a class.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the BlueStar experience for members by modeling standards and adhering to BlueStar policies.
• Help monitor facility for member/guest use, ensuring safety and security.
• Create and lead safe and engaging fitness classes for all levels.
• Advise members on class options to fit goals and any physical limitations.
• Maintain professional instructor–client relationships.
• Report any incident or accident to management.
• Stay updated with facility calendar and participate in events and seminars.
• Suggest programs to enhance the overall facility experience for members.
• Know all spa services to complement fitness routines.
• Work scheduled shifts; start and end sessions on time; sanitize equipment.
• Assist staff with lifting and storing equipment for events.
• Other duties as assigned.
