Job summary

Canyon Ranch Austin invites qualified fitness instructors to join the founding team for the Fall 2026 opening in the Texas Hill Country. You will lead wellness and fitness classes, ensure guest safety and enjoyment, and guide guests in proper form and technique.

We seek candidates with at least two years of teaching experience, a group fitness certification within 90 days, CPR certification, and a college degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of teaching experience in the fitness industry.
• Group fitness certification within 90 days of start.
• College degree in a fitness-related field preferred; knowledge of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology.
• Current CPR certification and basic first aid knowledge.
• Continuing education credits (CECs) to keep certifications current.
• Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills; able to engage a diverse guest group.

Responsibilities

• Instruct Wellness and Fitness classes while ensuring guest safety, comfort, and enjoyment.
• Lead a variety of classes including aerobic exercise, strength and endurance training, muscle toning, and stretching.
• Provide expert guidance on proper body alignment, technique, and injury prevention.
• Assist guests with the safe and effective use of cardiovascular and weight equipment.
• Create an engaging, motivating class experience aligned with Canyon Ranch wellness standards.

• Acquire a group fitness certification within 90 days of start.
• College degree in a fitness-related field preferred (e.g., physical education, exercise science, dance), with strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.
• Current CPR certification and basic first aid knowledge required.
• Ability to maintain continuing education credits (CECs) to keep national group exercise and personal training certifications current.
• Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills, with the ability to engage and work with a diverse group of guests.
