Job summary

Canyon Ranch Austin is seeking an experienced fitness instructor to lead diverse wellness classes and guide guests toward safer, more effective workouts. You will teach aerobic, strength and stretching sessions, ensuring proper technique and alignment while supporting guest motivation and safety.

The role requires a minimum of two years teaching in fitness, a group fitness certification within 90 days, and CPR/First Aid credentials.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of teaching experience in the fitness industry.
• Group fitness certification required to start within 90 days of hire.
• College degree in a fitness-related field preferred with anatomy, physiology and kinesiology knowledge.
• Current CPR certification and basic first aid knowledge required.
• Ability to maintain continuing education credits to keep certifications current.
• Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills with diverse guests.

Responsibilities

• Instruct Wellness and Fitness classes with guest safety, comfort and enjoyment in mind.
• Lead classes including aerobic exercise, strength training, toning and stretching.

WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A CANYON RANCH COLLEAGUE:

• Instruct Wellness and Fitness classes while ensuring guest safety, comfort, and enjoyment.
• Leads a variety of classes including aerobic exercise, strength and endurance training, muscle toning, and stretching.
• Provides expert guidance on proper body alignment, technique, and injury prevention.
• Assists guests with the safe and effective use of cardiovascular and weight equipment.
• Create an engaging, motivating class experience aligned with Canyon Ranch wellness standards.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Minimum of two years of teaching experience in the fitness industry.
• Acquire a group fitness certification within 90 days of start.
• College degree in a fitness-related field preferred (e.g., physical education, exercise science, dance), with strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.
• Current CPR certification and basic first aid knowledge required.
• Ability to maintain continuing education credits (CECs) to keep national group exercise and personal training certifications current.
• Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills, with the ability to engage and work with a diverse group of guests.
